The former Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Fatai Akinbade, has unveiled the reasons why he abandoned the former ruling party Peoples Democractic Party.
The former PDP chairman in Osun State and the Labour Party candidate in the 2014 governorship elections, Alhaji Fatai Akinbade, uncover these reasons while participating in an interview in a private radio station in Osun.
Alhaji Fatai Akinbade reveals that the major reason why he abandoned the party was due to the actions of some major party’s big guns then. He explained that when the former deputy governor in the state, Sen. Iyiola Omisore, took the reign of the party, he move is “to take over everything” which he does not agree with.
He further explained that the main reason why most people left the party was because they are tired of the politics of winner takes all.
Alhaji Akinbade however stressed the need for a vibrant opposition in the country hoping that the current travails of the party nationally will be over soon.
While responding to his governorship ambition in the next coming gubernatorial election in the state, he express hope that he’s is the most capable hand to take reign from incumbent governor, Rauf Aregbesola as according to him, he had a sterling performance and challenge anybody who has anything against him to go to court.
“I’ve served the state since 1994………My record is clean, when I was in government, I did not received bribe”.
According to the Former SSG in Osun, the reasons for the recent alliance of major political figures in Yorubaland is to form a strong united front to liberate the state by allowing simple majority.
“It’s an alliance of Yoruba people and politicians, Baba Akande is our B.O.T Chairman, we held our last meeting in our house, Baba Saka Balogun Chairman, Amb Yemi Farounbi is the Spokesman, we want our voice to be unified”. He explained.
He also, revealed that there are so many great people in the said alliance.
